Time for Ox Blood Lilies! August 28, 2017

You can just see the little stems with the flowers about to open in the above and below pictures.

The above and below ox bllood lilies are the pink variety.  My sister Terry gave them to me.

The above three pictures are the same little clump of lilies snapped the next day, all fully open.

Moonflower Arbor August 28, 2017

The flowers on the moonflower vine are huge.  My experience is that you get five or six at any one time, but you will never see an arbor completely covered with moonflowers, solid flowers.  But they are pretty and exotic-looking.  And the flower buds are really cool-looking.

Cleaning Out the Vegetable Garden - Before and After August 28, 2017

Time to get ready for fall planting.  The Torch Sunflowers had all toppled over and were blocking everything.  Also the zinnias had gotten leggy and were all flopped over.  Weeds, etc.

Purple Trailing Lantana August 19, 2017

It's easy to overlook this lantana, maybe because it is low-growing or because it's a ground cover.  But it looked really pretty today, so I took a picture.

Sangria Crinum August 19, 2017

This crinum is a stingy bloomer, so you'd better be in love with the burgundy colored leaves.  But it bloomed today, so I took pictures.  The leaves are a bit sun burned, so there you have it.  This plant gives a little, but when it does, it takes a little away.
