Dame de Couer July 22, 2012
Dame de Couer was introduced into commerce in 1958. It is 'Independence' crossed with 'Peace'. It is known as "The Black Rose" because the red color darkens as the flowers age. I like this rose, it doesn't have problems with black spot. The problem with this rose is that it 'throws its arms out' meaning that it shoots out long, ungainly canes. It doesn't form a nice rounded shrub.
