Autumn Sage will root from branches that hang down to the ground, or you can pull a branch down and weight it down with a rock. It won't root quickly, but it will happen. The leaves have a very pungent smell which is probably why it's deer resistant.

I am happy to hear about how its branches root. I have tried cuttings without any luck, though most of my non-shrubby salvias root without problems.
ReplyDeleteHere in Nashville our Autumn sages went to the ground because of our awful winter. Only a few came back. You had better luck!
