At the Farm April 1 - 2, 2023

This is Corncockle and Carefree Beauty rose.

Saturday I pulled weeds here and there trying not to get too dirty.  Ken Gwyn birthday party that evening.

Sunday.  Outside early.  I planted a Silver Fox Mangave in a pot by the pool.  I pulled 3 pups off it before I planted it, I will have to get more pots.  I have one at home, but that's it.

I worked in the Water Garden for a while.  I watered my new mist flowers.  I pulled up lots of artemesia.  Planted 2 tiny white greggii.

I finally planted a small Belinda's Dream in a pot in the Rose Garden.  I bought her quite a while back, and I finally got her in the ground.

I cut away plants crowding other plants.  Blue salvia is everywhere, and if I'm not careful it will soon cover up smaller plants.  I just cut stems down to the ground if they are crowding my more precious plants.  It comes back strong.

I cut the dead branches away from the Thryallis along the back beds.

I planted 5 Salvia Madrensis (Forsythia Sage).  I'm very excited about these.  They are fall bloomers, so I'm hoping for a great show in October for the wedding.  But I'm also excited because I've been trying to figure out what to plant in that rather large area of bed.  It gets some sun and some shade.  These perennials should do well here.  It seems to me that it's the perfect spot.  They spread, and I'm fine with that.

I cleaned out the La Vesuve bed in the Rose Garden and sowed Lady Slipper seeds.  Once it was cleaned out I was able to prune dead branches away from La Vesuve and clean her up a bit,

I spent time in the Orchard pulling weeds.

I sprayed vinegar on the paths in the Vegetable Garden, the Rose Garde, and a bit in the Star Garden.
