Collards in Bloom April 12, 2015

I let my last collard plant stay in the ground and go to seed.  Collards make really pretty plants.  I like to plant them in the Star Garden because the huge grey / green leaves are really striking.  And look at the pretty yellow flowers.  The bees are all over them.
Above my red cannas that Janine gave me are coming up, the foliage is really striking.  The Mexican sedum is blooming - a great evergreen ground cover.  An Autumn sage is just beyond the sedum, not yet in bloom.  A few bearded irises after that.  And the tall yellow flowers are the collard plant.  In the background is a pink vitex, my snowball bush, and some sweet peas that have not begun to bloom.
