Gulf Coast Penstemon is an excellent re-seeder and a short lived perennial. It pops up everywhere in my gardens. It is a favorite of the bees, and it is funny to watch them crawl all the way inside the flowers. Their blooms don't last very long - a few weeks and then they are gone. Their seed pods dry up in about a month, then I shake out all the seed and cut back the stems.
