Junior Miss is in the forefront of the picture, Professor Sargent at the back. When I read "late winter" bloomer, I never expected to be seeing blooms in April. I prefer early winter-blooming camellias because I can have blooms in my gardens after a freeze. These are pretty, but by April I have moved on to spring flowers! Both of the shrubs are supposed to be vigorous growers which is why I selected them from amongst all the notoriously slow growing camellias for sale in the nurseries. These are the fastest of the slow. I look forward to the future when they get bigger and more floriferous.
