What's Blooming Now - Perle d'OR 10/15/10

Perle d' Or was introduced into commerce in 1884. This rose has been around a long time.
It has been awarded the 'Earthkind' classification which means it is drought resistant and blackspot resistant. Earthkind roses also do not need fertilizers in order to bloom well. Perle d 'Or is a winner, a great rose selection for a person that does not grow roses. It is delicate and sturdy. The buds start out out almost orange and open to a pale pink. It has a very strong, good smell.
Last fall I over-fertilized this rose shrub, and it almost died. There was only one branch left that was alive. It is now about three feet wide and just as tall and thriving. I recommend this pretty shrub rose.
